Non-toxic lurkers may become more active and those who felt out of place or pushed out may start supporting you more. You should also take into consideration that removing toxic elements from your community may have a positive impact on your viewership. At 20 viewers, streaming is likely not profitable. Setting boundaries is important, especially if streaming isn't enjoyable and is causing you suffering. im super unconfrontational.Įveryone is giving you the same advice: set clear boundaries and enforce them, even if it means losing viewership. Should i stream like nothing happened? should i address it in like a special stream? i dont think banning them or confront them is a viable option for me. i always enjoyed it and its the first time i feel this insecure. maybe its because im a man people think i should be able to handle that kind of interaction? im very introverted, shy and unconfrontational but on stream i lighten up a bit. some apologized, some dont think they are involved at all and some arent thinking that they are at fault and that i overreacted. Now im just avoiding streaming again and typing in my discord. but this is the community i built over almost 3 years. Other people have told me to ban people, mods or vips doesnt matter. i always considered such a small circle to be more familiar than big streamers with like 200 viewers where they have to enable slow mode and everything. Im by far no big streamer i have like 10-20 viewers MAX. i then broke down, told my discord mods to take care of my discord and am currently taking a break from streaming. after i streamed league of legends in my discord people called me "loser" and "quitter". by then it was just the thing to insult me. same viewers and mods told me about how bad gatekeeping is in the souls community so i thought "hey maybe they are just doing what they experienced themselves" or something like that.īut it didnt stop. I then stopped playing soulslike for a while and thought maybe its just a souls thing. I got through dark souls 2 and 3 and people asked me "how the heck did you finish dark souls?" i then went on to nioh and was hugely excited for wo long fallen dynasty because im a huge dynasty warriors fan.Īll the while my mods and vips and regular viewers spammed emotes from other channels saying "skill issue" or just plainly said that im poo poo. At first it was just the usual "hah you died" or "git gud" but i took it as a joke. It started when i started to play dark souls and soulslike on my channel.
